Am has been involved in the technology and finance sectors for over 25 years. He has held senior positions in technology strategy, software development, marketing for companies such as IBM, AT&T Canada and CIBC. As a Vice-President in investment banking, most recently at Orion Securities, Am lead the IPO’s of eight Canadian software, hardware, telecommunications and entertainment companies. Am has also acted as a lead banker in a number of private placements and mergers & acquistions in the technology sector.

Am holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree(Honours) from the University of Manitoba, as well as a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Manitoba.

Shaun Parmar
Senior Advisor

Shaun is a seasoned business professional with over 20 years of diverse global experience spanning more than 40 countries. He has led numerous strategic initiatives and has headed various aspects of corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, divestitures, strategy, business development and allied finance functions across several industries.

Shaun is the former Group Director, Mergers and Acquisitions and Business Development of Bharti Enterprises Limited, one of India’s largest, diversified multi-national business conglomerates. Prior to this, he held a number of increasingly senior management positions with leading Canadian multi-national companies such as Canada Steamship Lines Inc., Canadian Pacific Railway, BCE Inc., Bell Canada International Inc., Telesystem International Wireless Inc. and Gildan Inc., where he was Vice-President, Business Development and Corporate Treasurer.

Shaun holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto (Trinity College), a Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance from York University (Schulich School of Business), and is a Certified General Accountant.

Jacques Wortman
Senior Advisor - Mining

Jacques offers mining consulting services focusing on the identification, assessment and valuation of high quality mining projects, as well as project evaluation and corporate development. Jacques has worked in mining equity research for over 12 years, including almost 10 years as a Mining Analyst at GMP Securities covering small to mid-cap companies across a wide commodity spectrum. In this role, Jacques incorporated extensive financial modeling, commodity evaluation and project evaluation. Jacques is currently a consultant in Corporate Development for Elgin Mining and prior to that held the position of Vice President, Corporate Development with a mid-tier gold producer. Jacques started his mining career as an exploration geologist and worked for Noranda Exploration as well as several junior exploration companies.

Jacques holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the Mount Allison University in New Brunswick and a Masters of Business Administration degree in Finance from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax.
